Back from South America

March 11, 2025

This is my first blog post. I'm really not one for writing publicly, but going to take some time to do it based on the fact that I doubt anyone would ever read this anyways.

Since this is a new portfolio site, Im going to start with this: Cursor's latest release, along with Claude 3.7 does so much of the work for you, and I'm looking forward to challenging myself with something that pushes the limits of what I can achieve with Cursor. A website like this would have taken me at least a couple weeks to finish only a year ago, but now I can pump it out within a single day. While I admit having experience working with AI and a platform like Cursor already is necessary to work that fast, it's still insane how far these new dev tools have come within a year.

Small life update, I just got back from traveling South America for a month. Ecuador > Peru > Bolivia > Chile (with Torres Del Paine 5 day hike at the end). I missed the salt flats because I spent 3 days in the hospital in Bolivia with Salmonella, which really sucked, but I am also grateful for having been able to recover while on the trip and still do the hike in Patagonia. I think I'm a little done with travelling by night bus, as I simply can't sleep upright, especially while experiencing windy roads and regular honking.

Being back home is great and I'm excited to get back to work.
